I’ve spent the past few days putting together this site – my first official online portfolio. It was fairly easy thanks to Squarespace’s intuitive interface, but I’m still proud. There’s nothing more rewarding than launching a new product into this big old world. So, I decided to christen this blog with a short, sweet first entry detailing the site’s nooks and crannies.
Although meleadau.squarespace.com is primarily a home for my freelance portfolio (and don’t worry – I’ll be changing the URL to just “meleadau.com” soon), I intend to use this blog as a place to ponder the wonderful world of media and mass communication. I’m desperately in love with writing, especially writing about popular culture, so you’ll probably find me commenting on culture industry news and pondering the mysteries buried in the art and craft of writing. I also need a place to talk about how obsessed I am with my current reading material, so I’ll ask you to please indulge me. I’m just another bookstore nerd.
If I haven’t scared you off already, you can learn more about me on my aptly named “about” page. Check out my marketing or strategic communication work, or peruse some of the articles I’ve written in myjournalism portfolio. And if you have any questions about my freelance availability or credentials or what I do for fun (I write, sing and watch “Mad Men”), just use the form on my contact page.
Oh, you can also follow me on Twitter or peek at my LinkedIn profile. I’m an open book.
