So, admittedly, it’s been awhile; my resolution for 2012 is to making posts here more regular.
But at least I have some good excuses for the delay. The past few months have been busy, and I can already tell upcoming months will maintain this nonstop forward momentum.
For starters, I just finished my second-to-last semester of my master’s candidacy, and I’m proud to say I’ll be graduating from the University of Iowa’s professional journalism program this May. For my last semester, I’ll be teaching a media history course to incoming journalism undergrads, which I’m pretty excited about – in part because I’m trying to figure out how I can work in weekly viewings ofGood Night and Good Luck,Frost/Nixonand of course,Newsies. As a personal resolution, I’m throwing myself headfirst into the culinary world – first up, learning techniques more – er technical – than pushing “start” on my microwave, namely how to dice, chop and julienne in style.
But most importantly, after several months of strategizing, I’ll finally be re-launching ArtSTALK, my master’s project website, sometime in the next week. I’m extremely enthusiastic about the changes we’ve implemented, including a total visual facelift, new regular featured columns, and several new talented writers. More about that when the time comes.
For now, I’ll leave you with a terrific website I recently discovered with some fantastic tips on time management and goal making – StevePalina.com. This article on how he completed college with two degrees in only three semesters convinced me this guy know what’s up; I’m already implementing some of Steve’s tips on becoming an early riser and increasing self-discipline, and I feel like a better person already.
